School Achieves 100% Attendance by Alerting Parents

Challenge: An elementary school with almost 500 students needed to make sure parents knew that state competency testing would be administered the following week.

Solution: CallingPost provided the answer. The school sent out a message advising parents to make sure their children were on time for school, had a good night's rest and ate a nutritional breakfast the week of the tests.

Benefit: 100% attendance was observed for students in the testing grades on Monday morning. The students performed exceptionally well and the school was recognized as a Georgia Distinguished Title 1 School.

"During the recent gas crisis, Georgia Governor Perdue unexpectedly cancelled school late in the afternoon for the following day. Because my daughter attended a private school, I didn't think it affected us. I was wrong. My daughter's teacher called at 7:00 p.m. that night and asked me if, as the Room Mom, if I could call and advise the parents that our school would also be closed. Since I already had a CallingPost group for the class, it only took a few minutes. CallingPost really saved the day as I wouldn't have had the time to locate or call all of those telephone numbers."
