November 2006 Newsletter

Reach out this Thanksgiving.

When you've been blessed, as I have, nothing feels better than to be able to share your blessings with others who are less fortunate. But trying to organize a charity event can quickly get stressful. Not anymore! With CallingPost it's easy to get the word out to everyone. I can request donations, schedule  volunteers to prepare and serve dinner, publicize the event, and thank everyone afterwards. One call really does it all.

Are you Thankful?
We all have our problems and challenges, but what about all of our blessings? We often focus on our relatively few problems and forget about the many blessings we have living in this great country! Do you have food to eat, clothes to keep you warm and a place to live? I serve on a Salvation Army Advisory Board – it’s a fantastic organization helping people in real need. I get to see my brothers and sisters who really struggle for food, clothes and a place to live. When I start feeling a little sorry for myself I just go help out at the Salvation Army and my thankful attitude is quickly restored. Please consider the less fortunate this Thanksgiving season. Another idea, if you’re bold enough, is to send out an “I’m thankful for your friendship, for my …” message to your friends and loved ones. It would express your appreciation and help others to consider their many blessings as well. And as always, we at CallingPost thank you for all you do in helping others!

The football team had just finished their daily practice session when a large turkey came strutting onto the field. While the players gazed in amazement, the turkey walked up to the head coach and demanded a tryout. Everyone stared in silence as the turkey caught pass after pass and ran right through the defensive line. When the turkey returned to the sidelines, the coach shouted, "You're terrific!!! Sign up for the season, and I'll see to it that you get a huge bonus."
"Forget the bonus," the turkey said, "All I want to know is, does the season go past Thanksgiving Day?"

Send us your joke for use in future editions of our Newsletter. If your joke is selected, you will receive 200 free calls!
